As we’re getting further into the year, there is always a big question on every gamers lips, What will be the next Call of Duty game? We do know one thing for sure, Infinity Ward will be bringing out this years Call of Duty. There’s always a lot of speculation of what the game title will be or what the game will be based around, well we have some thoughts on that point exactly.
Firstly as everyone might think, will they bring back the Modern Warfare series? Call of Duty Modern Warfare is widely regarded as the best CoD series there has been. It all started when Infinity Ward made CoD Four Modern Warfare which really did change the game in terms of online first person shooters. The progress between Call of Duty Three and Four was remarkable! The campaign was brilliant but it was the online multiplayer which was the real stand out game mode. It really set the pace for online multiplayer on Call of Duty.
When Infinity Ward brought out Modern Warfare Two it was incredible! They had changed so much more from the first Modern Warfare and it had come such a long way in such a short amount of time. So many people loved the way the game was, it had it’s faults but it was hard to stop playing. The next two games that Infinity Ward brought out were great games but not quite on the same level as Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 so you have to think, will Infinity Ward go back to basics and go for something they know was a very loved game.
There are a few ways that they could go back to them ways, firstly we think that they could redesign one of the Modern Warfare games with updated graphics and some very minor changes and updates which we’re sure a large amount of people will be happy to see. We also feel that they could build a game that is just similar to one of the more loved games by using a similar engine to build the game and very similar game mechanics. The last option that they could do if they want to go back in that direction is merge all of the Modern Warfare games into one big game because although Modern Warfare three wasn’t the best Call of Duty it was definitely still a good one and merging different aspects of them three games would make a pretty good game for sure!
If Infinity Ward don’t want to go in that direction then they’ll be making a new game altogether, there have been rumours that this Call of Duty could be based in space if they want to make a completely new game which we’re not sure how well that idea will be received with the public. The last two Call of Duty games have been very futuristic and a lot of people think that CoD is moving in the wrong direction. Personally I agree, Call of Duty should be gun warfare on foot like real soldiers whether present day or the past, the way that it is being made now is like Call of Duty is trying to be more like Halo or Titanfall. Space isn’t a very realistic warfare situation so I’m not sure it will be the best idea.
Infinity Ward could always make a sequel to Call of Duty Ghosts but that game didn’t get the best feedback or reviews and wasn’t one of Infinity Wards’s finest games so we feel that this option is unlikely.
We’re sure that the next Call of Duty will be great whatever they decide to do!
