The end of season 6 of Game of Thrones showed us that Eddard Stark was not actually the father to Jon Snow. Though the episode did not reveal Jon’s father, it did reveal Jon’s mother. That’s right, Jon’s real mother is actually Lyanna Stark, Eddard’s sister.
This flashback at the end of the episode, all but confirmed the “R+L=J” theory that has been circling around for years. The theory has now been fully confirmed after an infographic was posted onto the Making Game of Thrones blog.
So it turns out that Rhaegar Targaryen abducted Lyanna Stark and impregnated her. I wonder how this will all unfold in the last two seasons and the race for the Iron Throne.
